Preparation of Manuscript

General Principles

All articles submitted to Jurnal Kesehatan Lingkungan must be original works, not previously published, and not under consideration elsewhere. Manuscripts must follow the ICMJE Recommendations.

Authors must submit:

  • Author Declaration Form (signed by all authors)
  • Conflict of Interest Form (ICMJE)
  • Ethical Approval (if applicable)
  • Cover Letter

All submissions undergo peer-review and editorial review.

Study Ethics

Research involving humans and/or animals must receive ethical approval. A copy of the approval must be submitted.

Publication Ethics

This journal follows COPE guidelines in handling publication ethics and malpractice.

Language

Manuscripts must be written in structured English. Professional proofreading is required at the final stage.

  • Manuscript title (Indonesian and English)

Manuscript Formatting

  • MS Word format
  • A4, 2 cm margins
  • Font: Cambria, size 11
  • Single spacing
  • Structure: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Main Text, Conflict of Interest, Acknowledgments, References

Abstract and Keywords

Maximum 250 words. Structured: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion. Maximum 5 keywords.

Tables and Figures

  • Tables numbered sequentially
  • Figures in JPEG/TIFF, minimum 300 DPI
  • Include source if adapted

References

  • Use Vancouver style (numbered according to order of appearance in the article).
  • Main sources should come from journals and conference proceedings.
  • Minimum number of references:
    • Original Research: 25 references
    • Literature Review: 35 references
  • All citations referenced in the manuscript must be included in the reference list (use of a reference manager is strongly recommended).
  • The minimum literature used should be within the last 10 years at the time the research was conducted.
  • At least 80% of references should be recent (last 5 years).
  • Include DOI when available.
  • References may include abstracts that have been published online or in proceedings.

Plagiarism Policy

Maximum similarity index: 15%. Plagiarism and self-plagiarism are strictly prohibited.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

Authors may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools for language editing, grammar checking, or formatting purposes. However, the use of generative AI tools in the preparation of manuscripts must be clearly disclosed in the manuscript.

Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of the content of the manuscript.

Editors and reviewers are not permitted to use generative AI tools to generate peer review reports due to confidentiality and ethical considerations. Any use of automated tools in the editorial process must be supervised by the editorial team.

All research must comply with ethical standards including the Declaration of Helsinki.
